Pressure Care Aids For Dementia Patients
Dementia patients are often especially vulnerable to pressure ulcers due to a number of differing factors, including reduced mobility, skin sensitivity, and potential forgetfulness. As such, pressure ulcer prevention and relief is essential to overall care; forming a cornerstone of dementia care & support. Therefore, pressure care aids for dementia patients are crucial to patient health & wellbeing.

Dementia Action Week
This year, Dementia Action Week is taking place between 19th and 25th May, continuing to raise awareness of the importance of early diagnosis for people affected by dementia.
According to the Alzheimer’s Society, 91% of people affected by dementia say there are benefits to getting a diagnosis, where 1 in 3 people living with dementia here in the UK have not received a formal diagnosis.
The Alzheimer’s Society lays out many benefits to receiving an early diagnosis, such as:
- Access to specialised support, including treatment to help manage symptoms
- Information to help the patient and those around them understand the changes happening to them
And advise speaking to a GP in the first instance.
